Hannover 96 vs Freiburg

Hannover made another mediocre away performance and received the 1-0 defeat against Hamburg last Saturday, but maintained the 7th position of the league table, which gives them the last ticket for next season’s Europa League. In three games remaining they have to face Freiburg and Kaiserslautern at home, and Leverkusen away, so the European output can be finished if they will take four points to the two home games. Hannover is still undefeated at home in the league (9-6-0 record) and in overall, their only home defeat was that against Atletico Madrid for the quarter-finals of Europa League. Punished is main defensive midfielder Pinto, while Djouf will be absent once again.

 

Freiburg continued their unbeaten run with a goalless draw at home against Hoffenheim. They were the team that worthed more all three points as after halftime they pushed Hoffenheim a lot but failed to score. Anyway, the point was very important as they made a large step to avoid relegation, and they almost made it, as they have a 15 goals difference against Koln. In overall their season should be considered good, based on the predictions at the beginning of the season, and after Cisse departure.

Freiburg is in a period of form but they have nothing to play for from today. Hannover has a great home record of 9-6-0, and they need all three points to conquer the 7th position that leads to European exit.
