Vejle vs Viborg

After a disappointing result betting-wise in the game between HB Køge - Horsens, i will take i closer look at the 1. Division game between promotion chasers Vejle and Viborg.

 

Both teams must get the 3 points today, to keep the dream of promotion alive. Vejle are now only 1 point from 2. place, which will earn them a promotion, while Viborg has 5 points up. The team currently holding the second position, Randers, will play Blokhus who is already close to relegation, and they are of course expected to win that game easily.

 

If Viborg loses this game, they will be out of the promotion race, and i do believe that will be the outcome of the game. After the winter-break, Viborg have faced 3 opponents from the bottom half of the table, drawing twice, and only winning once, which must be considered disappointing for a team with promotion dreams.

 

Vejle started the second half of the season with losing surprisingly to Brønshøj, which currently holds 5. position. After that game Vejle got back on track, winning their two last games. Vejle has an amazing goal record on their home ground, where they have managed to only concede 1! goal during the entire season. They have won 6 out of 8 home games, drawing two games.

 

Viborg is actually the 2. best away team, but i dont believe they have what i takes here after the winter-break, where they sold their topscorer Ken Fagerberg to the Superliga team Horsens.

 

The two teams faced each other at Viborgs home ground, a little over a month ago, in a friendly match, where Vejle took the victory with 1-2. I think that is a good display of the current balance of power between the teams.

 

There is no major injuries to report, from both sides, so my recommendation is to go for Vejle as the winner of this game. With their amazing home-record, better form, and the the fact that Viborg has sold their topscorer in mind, i believe that they have enough quality to win this fixture.
