Third round match in Monte Carlo. For Serbian player it will be only second appearance on the court. Because of high ranking he did not play in first round, while in second it was easy win against Albert Montanes, 6-2,6-3. But Tipsarevic already has couple matches played on clay court before Monte Carlo: in Davis Cup he has played two matches with Stepanek and Berdych. BTW both were easy over games matches.

 

On the other hand, the Frenchman Simon will enter this match after two easy wins against Balleret and Gil. And he will be today slight favourite. Beside fact that in some hand he is domestic player here, on his side is also great head to head record, 3-0. But every time those were over games matches: twice in three sets while the only straight sets win was in first meeting but even then it was with score 7-6,7-6. Also note that this will be first ever head to head meeting on clay court where Tipsarevic could be even closer to Simon.

 

In any case, these are two top players. By the current form of both of them, I would call this as very close match. The other day I was wrong with my over games choices, but for today I think it wont be mistake. IMO this is a match for 10 stake pick.
