FC Copenhagen vs SonderjyskE

The league schedule is very tight at the moment, and Copenhagen have lost some of their lead to the closest followers Nordsjælland, after the winterbreak. Therefore Copenhagen is definitely prioritising the league higher than the cup, because finishing in first place gives direct access to the Champions League group stage, whereas the cup only give Europa League qualification. With this tight schedule and Copenhagen's main priority on the league, I think that they might spare some of the important players on the team, so that they can be fit to this weekends upcoming league matches. Their two main strikers N´Doye and Santin, have scored 27 out of Copenhagen's 45 goals in this season, and if they rest one or both of these players, as I suspect, we will see a game short on goals.

 

Sønderjyske have only scored 2 times against Copenhagen in the last 5 games at Parken.

 

I think the game will form to be Copenhagen running a tight defence, and trying to get a goal or two, and then get through the game with as little effort as possible, to save energy for the next match.

 

Copenhagen almost have a full squad, only player missing is central defender Ottesen, who is a starter for the team, but he will be replaced by the new signing Stadsgaard, which is a very competent replacement.

 

Sønderjyske seems to have no significant injuries as well.

 

It should be noted, that this is the first of two games, and since Copenhagen has only lost once to Sønderjyske, they wont be forced to win big in this first tie, as they have two matches to finish the job.
