Rochdale vs Exeter

After two years to League One, Rochdale is preparing for League Two, as they relegated after the successive defeats at Friday and Monday. They were too bad to the 3-1 away defeat against Yeovil, and full of defensive problems in the 2-5 home defeat against Sheffield United. Not enough things to write, their coach reflected the situation to their club : “The season wasn’t lost in this match, but I will not try to avoid my responsibilities. This my team Rochdale falling down and to avoing taking responsibilites, it would be hypocritical at least. I think it’s time to pick up some decisions about how to proceed next season, no doubt, but that talent is not enough by itself and we will need a more rational approach”. Defenders Marcus Holness, Stephen Jordan and Kevin Long are all out of the game, while midfielder Brian Barry-Murphy is injured, making things even worse to their defensive line.

 

Exeter is with half foot in League 2, and they have very little chances to avoid relegation. After the defeat with the score of 1-0 away to Scunthorpe on Friday, they returned to winning ways with a comfortable 3-0 win at home over Leyton Orient, and this brought some smiles to the club. Today’s game is probably the game that will clear the situation about their future, as they are eight points far from Walsall, and if they do not win, everything is over. Their coach however remained quiet and without any sign of anxiety, stating that they played great over Leyton, and in no case will stress his players. All in all, this is Exeter’s last chance, they will try to build the game on their side after the win over Leyton, while Rochdale will try to finish the season with some pride, playing with totally no stress. I guess a very open game with more than two goals to be scored, between two teams with terrible defensive lines.
