Fiorentina vs Palermo

Fiorentina made a great game against tired Milan in the weekend and managed to get three points from "San Siro", which allowed them to move five points clear of the relegation zone at the moment. But still the team needs to get the three points today to breath easily in the next rounds, espacially when they play against Roma (away), Inter (home) and Atalanta (away) and the chance to get some points in those games is not so big. Fiorentina have won almost half of the games they played at "Artemio Franchi" so far this season (7-3-5), but they are currently on a run of three defeats in their last four games here (1-0-3). Juan Vargas (24/0) is out for today.

 

Palermo is the worst away team in the league so far this season, which just one win (1-5-9), which actually came in their last game as visitors two weeks ago against Bologna (3:1). Second victory in a row away from home will be just too much Mutti's team. Palermo is currently on eleventh position, eight points ahead of the relegation zone, so their are pretty much safe for their place in Serie A next season, especially because they will play at home against Parma, Catania and Chievo and also have to play against Cesena as visitors at the end of the month, when their opponent will most probably already be relegated (they are currently 15 points behind the safety zone). Two, or maybe even three wins in those four games will for sure guarantee their place in Serie A. Mutti have to solve big problems for today, because Balzaretti (26/0), Silvestre (25/3), Migliaccio (26/2), Acquah (18/0), Aquirregaray (9/0) and Varela (5/0) are all out for today.

 

In everyone of the last four seasons Fiorentina and Palermo won one and lost one game in the matches between each other. In the previous one this season Palermo won with 2:0, so now it's time for Fiorentina to get the three points and to continue the tradition.
