VEF Riga vs Valencia

Riga counts three wins in a row in a competition and with a win against Valencia they will secure the quarterfinals (or with Nymburk’s loss @Gravelines). This is a very brave small lineup team that likes to play fast basketball. Coach Butautas did a great job after taking this young team and their confidence is the major difference maker lately. The team does not have some strong individuals but their cooperation and team play is very good and they are more than ready to punish anyone who tries to underestimate them.

 

Valencia is another team that is playing better lately, under Perasovic it is all about the defense and this team is becoming a serious contender in ACB. Against Unicaja at Sunday they have won by 10 by the late run but the fact they allowed their hosts 58 points says a lot. Unicaja has a lot of weaknesses but they are not a weak offensive team. Valencia won both times on the road in this phase of Eurocup and even with a fact they have secured 1st spot in the group and QFs, I cannot see them as 4 points dogs against a team they have demolished in that first game (80-49). There’s possibility that the hosts are overpriced here and I am willing to take the visitors, GL!
