Basel vs Bayern

Basel made a great success progressing group stage in Champions League by eliminating Manchester United in the last round of the group stage and every other game in elimination phase will be just an extra game for them, with not too much pressure. Their league have just restarted and hosts didn’t impress in first two matches as they took only two points, making a goalless draw against Sion at home and 2:2 draw against Youn Boys five days ago on the road. Home team prefers to play open and attacking game and although this is only the first leg of this match-up, this is what their coach also announced and we really shouldn’t expect Basel to defend here as open game is the only way they know how to play. Not only their decreased their chances winning the domestic title, but that draw also increased the importance of this match in Switzerland. Guests will miss Bastian Schweinsteiger once again due to injury as David Albelda should be the one who will take his place.





These two sides met in the last seasons Champions League edition when the Germans have won both matches, 1:2 in Switzerland and 3:0 in Munchen. Similar score is expected today too as this should be on attacking and open minded football match where Germans are also much closer to the victory.
