Manchester City vs Porto

This is a second leg fixture of Europa League 2011/12. In the first leg played in Portugal, English side have won with 2:1 coming from behind as Portuguese side took the lead with a goal from Valera (27′), but guests bounced back with a own-goal from Pereira (55′) and late winner from Aguero (84′).



As said, Manchester City have won the first game with 2:1 and are awaiting this match more relaxed than they thought they will be, however they will have to make sure not to underestimate Portuguese in this leg. Citizens are doing fine in Premier League, but after a failure to progress group stage in Champions League, Europa League is one of the main goals this season for them – alongside domestic league, of course. Everyone in the team is hungry for trophies and progress here is very likely for them. Citizen’s coach has no fresh injury worries in front of this game.



Porto, on the other side, is doing very well in their league, but this seems to be the end of their European competitions campaign. They have lost first match and will now have to attack from the beginning in order to make a surprise and win in England. Narrow 0:1 victory is not going to be enough for them, which means that only higher scoring (over 2.5 goals) victory will be enough for them. Portuguese side will be without central defender Mangala who is supposed to be out injured till the end of March.



Nothing more to be added here, hosts secured victory in the first match and there is nothing left for the last season’s Europa League winner but to try to attack and see what happens. High scoring game and quick tempo are expected here, English side is full of offensive minded player and they will surely know how to use them on counter attacks as Porto will have to start attacking sooner rather then later.
