AC Milan vs Arsenal

I know this is a controversial pick knowing the standing that AC Milan have but in terms of form i think Arsenal FC are a stand out bet.

 

Im not going to clutter the pick with injury news as if you read Octavians excellent article the details are there to see.

 

What i do want to talk about is the 2 teams, that Milan midfield is the worst i've seen in years, Seedorf has lost maybe 2 or 3 steps as has his teammate Ambrosini...and not content with having 2 veterans in midfield they go and sign one of the most overrated players ever Mark Van Bommel. All he is good for is taking someones leg off when he should be clearing the football and i think tomorrow night the youth and pace of Arsenal can cause them serious problems.

 

The Milan defence is younger but not great top level champions league experience apart from Nesta (another aul lad!) who may be fit tomorrow and Abate is a complete liability as far as im concerned. I dont think Robinho and Ibra play off eachother well although Ibra can change a game in an instant i will admit. Boateng is also a good option for them. But having watched their last 2 games i just cant fancy them to get the job done whereas i watched Arsenal destroy Blackbutn 7-1 and am hopeful they do have the tools to get the job done even though Milan have only lost once at the san siro.

 

Obviously this will be a bet in-running for me but as i have to post the tip early what i will be looking for is Wenger to tell the youngsters to attack Milan from the 1st minute, the Milan midfielders will not like Chamberlin and Walcott flying full speed at them, add them to the skill and vision of Ramsey, Arshavin, Arteta or even Song who has been playing well and they will have a great chance of opening the scoring espicially with the premier league top scorer Van Persie up front. Sagna may also be back in defence who i rate very highly.

 

I feel if Wenger sets his team up to defend they may get caught out by a bit of Ibrahimovic brilliance espicially if mertesaker is out so to me their best chance is just to play their normal game, pass the ball, attack quickly, tire out the old Milan midfielders legs and take a handy lead back to the Emeritas.
