On the face of it a very uneven match, world number 4 Andy Murray against world number 47 Potito Starace.
Neither player has had a tremendous run of form lately, both their last ten matches read 5 wins, 5 losses. However in the long run, Murray is the vastly more successful player. Even when just looking at the last twelve months his W/L record reads 47-17 compared with Starace's 49-39, Murray is by far the stronger player.
I fancy Andy Murray to run into a bit of form as we approach the summer and reckon he will start well here at the Rome leg of the ATP Tour. Back Murray to get the win today and if he progresses in the tournament then we can begin to look at backing him with a handicap.
I had expected the Scotsman to be prohibitively short in the betting but at 1.3 with William Hill he is worth a maximum stake, to ensure a small profit.
