St. Johnstone vs Hamilton
An interesting prospect tonight in St. Johnstone v Hamilton. Despite the high odds I'm actually pretty confident with this bet.
St. Johnstone are safe from relegation and don't really have anything much to play for. Even manager Derek McInnes seems to have his mind on next season - he has talked to anothe club, down in England, about a move to take over there.
Hamilton, however, are pretty desperate for a win as they are still three points behind St. Mirren in the table and have only one match left after this one - a tough game against Inverness. Bearing in mind Hamilton's goal difference is vastly inferior to St. Mirren's they are likely to need at least four points to stay up.
Matches at McDiarmid Park this season have rarely featured many goals - while the Saints have the fourth best home defence record in the league they have the worst record when it comes to attack, their 18 home matches have only featured a total of 28 goals this season.
Hamilton, being the team in the SPL who have scored the least away goals, are far from a goalscoring machine but as previously stated they will be desperate for a win.
I can see the Accies snatching a one goal victory (or perhaps getting lucky and scoring more) but at the same time it is quite possible this match will be two poor teams cancelling one another out and it will be goalless. In this scenario one should always bet on the 'No goalscorer' market and not the 0-0 correct score market as it allows for own goals.
Staking plan:
Hamilton to win
2pts @ 3.1 with PaddyPower
Hamilton to win 1-0
1pt @ 9.5 with Betfred
No goalscorer
1pt @ 9.0 with Betfred
