Barcelona vs Manchester United

For the month of May I have taken a different approach, many of my tips will be longer term ones, perhaps published a few weeks in advance to take advantage of better odds.

One of the easiest tips for me to put forward however is this one - Barcelona to lift the Champions' League trophy at the end of May.

Right now, Barcelona are 2-0 ahead in their tie against Real Madrid and have a second leg at home to their rivals on Tuesday. I think Barca's place is all but assured in the final.

To me, the biggest danger for them was this tie against the Madrid side as Ronaldo, Mourinho & Co are getting back to their formidable best and are a better footballing team than any other in the competition (except Barca).

Should there be a miracle in the other tie and Schalke beat Man United then Barca will waltz home to the title with ease. If, as expected, it is Manchester United who the Catalan team face then they will face a tougher opposition but one that I honestly expect them to overcome fairly easily.

While Man U are top of the Premier League and look like winning the title, they are far from the quality of Barcelona. In the past few weeks they have slipped to defeat against Man City, drew at Newcastle and were unconvincing against Everton. In contrast Barcelona seem to sweep aside all in their path (discounting the Copa del Rey).

Messi has scored a staggering FIFTY goals this season (and is likely to score more), Pedro + David Villa have also chipped in with a fair few each as well. Puyol should be back at full fitness for the final alongside his favoured partner Gerard Pique. Xavi, Mascherano or Busquets, Dani Alves and hopefully Iniesta will supply the firepower for the front three.

Simply put, Barcelona is the best team in the world. They should win this tournament. Get in now before the odds are still value.
