This will be first game out in week 2 of Allsvenskan. After week 1 most of the talk has been about the condition of the pitches. Out of the 8 matches in the first round, three was played on artificial grass. In these three matches we got to see 5 goals. The other 5 games was played on what was supposed to be grass. In these 5 games, which 3 of them ended goalless, we just got to see four goals. As swedish teams in general are physically strong and well organised, the games this early tend to be more about kicking the ball as far and high as you can, and try to score from corners or free kicks.

Now let´s have a look at this game. Most important here is the fact that even though BP is set as home team, the game is played at Råsunda which is the home arena of AIK. BP´s home arena Grimsta is up for renovation and won´t be ready until 1st April. Even if this game was played at Grimsta, AIK would be the team with the biggest support as both teams is from Stockholm and AIK are averaging an attendence of 18.000 while BP is mostly playing in front of 1.800.

AIK were held last week by newcomers Mjällby to a goalless draw, off course this was a big dissappoinment to both players and fans. Mjällby was playing very agressive and didn´t allow AIK to play their game. It also became clear how much AIK is going to miss Iván Obolo, who were their best player over the last two years. As the team is now they don´t have anyone with his strength, heading and the ability to hold on to the ball which is very important in these early season matches, where the players tend to prefer keeping the ball in the air rather than on the ground. BP lost 1-0 in the first round to Helsingborg after a last minute goal. They had their goalkeeper sent off in the first half, but they were still just seconds away from grabbing something. I expect their coach to do his homework and face AIK with the same strategy as Mjällby did, and when they do, AIK´s only option will be sending the ball long.
