Divizia A - Dinamo Bucharest v Steaua
Dinamo Bucharest are coming off one of their better games of the season in the 2-2 draw at CFR Cluj. I had Cluj to win by 1 goal and a draw cover, and unfortunately i only recovered the stake, in addition losing a daring 4-game system that could have landed about 3.5K in my pockets. I had to settle for the 3 out of 4 version of that system bet but still, i rest assured that i made the right pick. Dinamo had only 20 minutes of good football in that game, in the second half after they increased the score to 2-1. Two major mistakes brought one goal for each team, while some bad referee decisions, a "4-meter behind the line" offside that stopped Cluj from opening the score in the first half and some other minor issues aimed against the hosts realistically cost Cluj the victory. How can a referee give an offside decision when the striker is FOUR meters behind the last defender. HOW can a non-blind person do that?... Yet another fake point for Dinamo in this spring, after the two fake victories previously mentioned by me in the Cluj preview. The pressure is high on Dinamo as they are behind and need desperately to win against their biggest rival. Dinamo showed a major lack of firepower in the Cluj game, as Cristea was to weak to do anything unless for the huge mistake that served him a ball in front of the net, while the others, Bratu or Niculescu or Niculae have had injury issues and could not take part.
Steaua are playing much better away from home this season than they are doing at home. A record of 6-2-1 with a 16-8 GD is really strange for what i would expect of them earlier in the season when playing away. The only defeat came hilariously in the only game they controlled, at Astra, but after being 1-0 in front and missing many big chances, Astra stroke back in the second half and turned it around. Steaua are coming off a 1-0 win over Otelul Galati, in what was maybe their worse game of the season, more or less. Otelul largely dominated the second half in terms of possession and passing, but Steaua stood behind the early 1-0 lead and held on until the end. Steaua will have a big defender problem ahead of this game, while big hope Tanase is set to take part in this game, if not from the start, maybe into the second half. Striker Kapetanos keeps playing well above expectations, running to help the defense on many occasions, and this is exactly why he was called to the Greek NT in their last friendly if i am not mistaking. Along with Bogdan Stancu, a faster but smaller striker, they are a decent team for the current level of the championship, but Steaua still lack the creative midfielder everyone is expecting for many many years now.
Dinamo won on Steaua's home ground in the first part of the season by 1-0, a fake result as the game was balanced and should have been a draw in my opinion. For this clash, Steaua will want revenge and will try to snatch the first victory in 3 years. Pressure is on both teams and there will be mistakes that will probably settle the final result. I intend to put the main stakes on the draw, as it is the likely result here, but i will also land a smaller bet on Steaua to win by a 1-goal margin, as it can also be and is much better priced than the hosts doing so and in my opinion a bit more probable. Good luck.
