NBA - Charlotte v NO Hornets
The Hornets are Paul-less while the Bobcats are returning home after a long but very good road trip…
The Bobcats only just lost to the Lakers in their final match of their road trip but once again the effort was there and things are saying that they can play and they do play and that can only be good for this Bobcats franchise, Players are believing in themselves as well as the system they are trying to play with and game by game they are getting better, their record at home is mammoth at 18-5 and it is at home where this Bobcats side really step up, the Bobcats shooting percentages have remained solid even at the loss in Portland 2 games ago and FT shooting has also remained consistent, their side is a good one with depth and talent in all areas, Wallace who has been on fire did not feature in their last game against the Lakers and is unsure about whether he will play tonight either but I reckon he will as the side itself really look like they have some belief in themselves and they appear to be playing for each other which is always a great sign, the Bobcats are on the rise for sure and watch out any side who doesn’t take them seriously as they do so at their own peril, the Bobcats are very much the read deal this season with good options all over the court.
The Hornets might be Chris Paul-Less but they still have a good team who can play and can score, Peja, West, Posey and their cohorts are all very good players with great shooting percentages, they can hit the big shot when needed to and that is why I like following their totals as they are just never out of a game, the Hornets have lost 4 of their last 5 and even the Saints momentum in the NFL and the excitement on the streets of the Big easy is not helping them to much, the loss last night to the 76ers was not a good loss at all and the Hornets continue to give away points in their matches, this game could help them in that sense but I believe this is not the game to slow down and try some defence because really the Bobcats at home can and do play defence and to get to them you must post decent numbers to get under their skin, the Hornets can post decent numbers and likely will tonight.
The Hornets are 7-3 in their last 10 against the Bobcats and are 8-2 ATS in those matches, at Charlotte and the Hornets are 2-3 in their last 5 there and are also 3-2 ATS in those matches, I should also say that whether winning or losing only once has the margin been larger than 10 points with 4 of those 5 most recent matches played in Charlotte being settled by 5 points or less, Total wise and 6 of the last 10 between these two sides have resulted in Over the Set total and of the last 5 played in Charlotte 3 of the last 4 have resulted in over the total but the last 2 have fallen under with both matches ending in the 180’s, however I reckon this match will be larger than that, I should also say that the Bobcats are 13-10 in over the total when playing at home and the Nets are 15-11 on the overs when playing away from home.
The Bobcats have scored 90 or more in 4 of their last 5 matches and have allowed 96 or more in thir last 5 matches, they also allow 94 ppg when playing at home on the season, Meanwhile the Hornets have scored 90 or more in their last 5 matches and have allowed over 100 in each match, although the Bulls game went to OT but that was played in New Orleans anyway, The Hornets average road score this season is 99 ppg.
The Hornets don’t have Paul but they are still 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road matches and continue to make life hard for any team they come up against and this match will be no different, while the Bobcats have returned home from a road trip in what has to be considered a great success for them with a winning record from that trip and now they will likely want to show the home fans who should turn out tonight how far they have come in such a short space of time, so this match looks like a good one and I think another Overs game between these sides is on the cards…Good Luck.
