Allsvenskan - AIK v Mjallby
Still five weeks until the start of Allsvenskan, but the odds here from bwin are way to generous and must be grabbed now. I´ll tell you why! The odds are set to the fact that AIK are both League and Cup Champions and that Mjällby is newly promoted. Since AIK´s success on the field they have really struggled off the field. They´re having huge financial problems and have been forced to off load a lot of quality. Goalkeeper Daniel Örlund declared in November that he have signed a contract with Rosenborg, right back Markus Jonsson did the same last week when leaving for Panionios. Two key players out on free transfer. Centre back Jos Hooiveld have been sold to Celtic for 1.5m euros. AIK´s best player over the last years Ivan Obolo moved back home to Arsenal de Sarandi for a modest transfer fee, 500k. Now there are reports that Jorge Ortíz have been granted to make the same move as Obolo due to his girlfriends illness. Ortíz was voted MVP last season by the fans of AIK. The deal is said to be worth around 500.000 euros. So, all in all AIK have seen four or possibly five of their absolute best players leave for pocket money.
As said Mjällby is newly promoted. They went through Superettan last year in style, securing promotion with four games left to play. All starting players from last year are still at the club. Six players has joined the club. Most remarkable is Tobias Grahn who can be a revelation if he gets his head straight. Also is former Galatasaray player Tobias Linderoth reported to be close signing with the club.
AIK is still the favorite here when playing at Råsunda in front of 25.000, but it´s gonna be a lot tougher than odds suggest. After all this is not the Premiership or Primera where the big boys can do without five players and still run over the smaller teams.
