Both sides are in disarray and both sides are desperate for points, Could Wigan again prove to be the most unpredictable side in the EPL and get a surprise win here??

Sunderland are in real free fall here and have only scored 1 goal in their last 3 matches and 3 in their last 4, they haven’t won a match since the 2nd of January in a match where they beat Barrow 3-0 in the FA Cup and their earlier season promise all but seems a distant memory right now, At home at the Stadium of light and Sunderland have only one win from their last 5 matches and have scored only 5 goals but they have conceded only 4 also picking up a win, 3 draws and a loss in those matches, they at one stage were thinking grand thoughts of a top table finish but now those dreams seem to be all but a distant memory, they sit in 13th spot on the ladder and are falling fast and they need to find answers to some questions or all the promise they did show will be all for nought, Personal wise and there is some hope on the Stadium of Light horizon with two new signings in Hutton and Benjani as well as Turner, Bardsley, Cattermole and Reid all in contention for this match while Richardson and Ferdinand are in doubt.

The Lactics aren’t going well either and have lost their last 2 EPL matches as well as what was a bad loss to Notts County last week in the FA Cup, they really are an up and down team and it is a match like this one where no one likes them that they could actually turn up, they are creating chances but taking them is another matter altogether, the Lactics have scored only one goal in their last 3 fixtures and while allowing 5 and away from home they only have one point from their last 5 away fixtures, they have though scored 6 goals in those matches while conceding 11!! Personal wise and McCarthy, Hendry, Rodallega and N’Zogbia will return to the startingside after being rested mid week against Notts County while Kirkland and Melchiot are still both out.

Sunderland are really on a downward trend and are probably licking their lips at facing a Lactics side who love to concede Goals but this is a match where Wigan are unfenced and are coming off what is an embarrassing loss against Notts County in the FA Cup and I think they will be viewing this match as one that they can get some thing out of, Wigan don’t draw many away from home in fact only 1 game this season away from home but with the form that Sunderland are in they could be a bit of a go here and their H2H record against the Cats is encouraging, so lets see how bad Sunderland are really going and see if the Unpredictable Wigan can surprise us here and get a result from this match…Good Luck(We might need it!!)
