Premiership - Manchester City v Portsmouth
The woes off the field continue for Portsmouth, with players not being paid, Players being sold behind the managers back and a very uncertain future hanging over the whole clubs existence, It looks very much like a slow death for 'Pompey' I fully expect the woes to continue today on the pitch as they try to get something out of a team who are at the other end of the financial spectrum. Portsmouth come into this match with just 1 win in there last 5 and sitting bottom of the table, Away from home Pompey have managed just 1 win and 2 draws from 10 matches, scoring just 5 goals in the process. Fair play to them though they are battling hard and im sure the management will be happy when the transfer window closes and nobody else will be getting sold. More players left this week and although O'Hara has returned to the club along with Nugent they still look paper thin across the park.
Manchester City couldnt be further away for Portsmouth, Multi billionaire owners an even increasing wage bill and the ability to pack Robinho back off to Brazil shows that Manchester City are happy with what they have got at the moment. Manchester City have to get over the disapointment of there League Cup defeat against arch rivals United and get over it quickly as 4th spot in the Premiership is still very much up for grabs, With games in hand too it should be there for Citys taking.....if they can continue picking up wins. Defeat last time out Vs Everton ended a 4 game winning run and they must now look to start that run again, If you had to hand pick opponents to play, Pompey at home would be most peoples choice. Manchester City remain unbeaten at home this season winning 7 and drawing 3 of there 10 matches and averaging over 2.5 goals a game too, They should win this one at a canter.
Manchester City to win is an obvious pick but at 1.3 or thereabouts isnt going to make the average punter very rich, Having looked around for better value im liking Carlos Tevez to score anytime at just above even money. Tevez has a very impressive scoring rate for December and January scoring 13 goals in these 2 months and Tevez is also likely to take any penalties City may get. Manchester City should win by a few goals today and Tevez on current form look an obvious pick to get a goal or 2.
4Pts Tevez anytime scorer @2.05 with Expekt
