NHL - Montreal v Buffalo Sabres
Conference rivals will meet today on Bell Centre when the Canadiens will host the Sabres.
The Canadiens are doing great lately, winning six games out of their last seven games on-road, coming after two games in a row in wich they have won in Tampa, against the Bolt, 2:1 and in Florida, against the Panthers, 5:4. Markov and Gionta are back in the team and this thing was a joy to behold as the Canadiens are showing lots of improvements.
The Sabres are on a three games winning streak in wich they defeated St. Louis, 5:3, Pittsburgh Penguins, 4:3 and Atlanta Trashers, 4:3. They were lucky to get their last two wins as they were forced to come back after a 0:3 deficit in both matches. No important missings for the Sabres as Vanek just returned on the ice. Maybe Kaleta, but he is a long-term injured.
This will be the first game for the Canadiens at Bell Centre in this new year. They are coming back here after nine consecutive games played on-road so my expectations are high. As I said, Buffalo Sabres were lucky to get those 4:3 wins over the Penguins and the Trashers and their luck might end here tonight. Montreal Canadiens to tie the series against the Sabres this season at 2:2 is my call for this game.
