Eliteserien - Djurgardens IF v Linkopings HC
A solid season, indeed, as Djurgårdens in on the 4th place after 31 games played, ten less than HV71. After six games in wich Djurgårdens have won only one time, 5:2 against Brynäs, it seems that they found their momentum, being now on a four games winning streak: 4:2 against Luleå, 3:0 Skellefteå, 5:1 Rögle and 3:1 against Södertälje. This will be Djurgårdens' third game in a row at Hovet and they will surely won't have an easy task as they will miss Mathias Tjärnqvist (1+1), long-term injured and Marcus Krüger (9+18), Jacob Josefsson (4+7) and Daniel Brodin (2+1), all of them playing in the World Juniors World Cup in Saskatoon and Regina, Canada. Carl Gustafsson and Henrik Eriksson will be back in the team, welcoming Mika Hannula's comeback in Elitserien after his trip in KHL.
Since Jaroslav Hlinka and Jan Hlavak arrived in Linköpings, things have changed dramatically. They have 56 points (38+24) in just 19 games played and Linköpings is now on the 2nd spot, one point behind HV71. They are on a six games winning streak in wich they defeated HV71, Luleå, Skellefteå, Färjestad, Södertälje and Brynäs. Also, they haven't conceided any goal in their last two games played, Linköpings having the best percentages in Elitserien when talking about goaltenders, 92,29% SVS. Mats Fröshaug (one game in this season) is the only player unavailable for Linköpings.
Without some of their best players, Djurgårdens won't have the same power as they have had untill now. The trio Marcus Krüger (9+18), Jacob Josefsson (4+7) and Daniel Brodin (2+1) means a lot for Djurgårdens as they are fast, they are talented and they are one of the best players in Djurgårdens. Linköpings is flying high at this moment and they have no worries for this game. So, Linköpings to make it seven in a row is my choice for today's action from Hovet, Johanneshov Arena.
