Championship - Ipswich Town v Peterborough
I think Ipswich might just have turned the corner this season, the bad luck they have had in matches is slowing turning around, in fact on Saturday Bristol City hit the woodwork twice in the 0-0 draw, So lady luck was smiling on Keane that day, The problem with Ipswich is drawing too many games, 11 draws from 19 games is the most in the division and the main reason they are in the bottom 3. If Ipswich can start converting these draws into wins then i firmly believe they wont be far off the play offs come the end of the season. Ipswich have some very good players and are now 8 unbeaten, If they can get some breaks and an early goal in a game will eventually turn somebody over big style this season. It wont take much to ignite there season and with a big christmas schedule coming up i fancy Ipswich to start to climb the table starting tonight.
Peterboro under Darren Ferguson managed back to back promotions but after a slow start this season Ferguson was rewarded with the sack!!!! Mark Cooper is now at the helm and has the tricky job of getting Peterboro off bottom spot and keeping them up this season. Peterboro are 5 without a win although they have managed two 2-2 recently, all be it at home. They are still without a win away this season and have lost there last 3 on the road. Its going to be tough to break that run tonight.
Although this is a bottom 3 clash, the gulf between these sides is bigger than 1 place, Im choosing to ignore the fact Peterboro beat Ipswich earlier in the season as that was in the League Cup. If this had been the opening game of the season you might have seen odds of around 1.5 on an Ipswich win tonight we still have 1.80 available and to me that is too big for a side that i believe are in a false position and are ready to climb the table.
