Championship - Newcastle v Watford

Newcastle finally look to have hit a run of form and 5 wins from the last 5 has given them great confidence. A 3 - 0 win over a good Swansea side at St James Gate demonstrated that they are back to their best and will now focus on a good run between here and the new year. Their recent run of form has taken them 2 points clear at the top of the Championship and they are 7 - 2 - 0 at home.

Watford are in a bit of a financial crisis at the moment and it looks like a few players might depart during the January transfer window. They were pretty tame in their 3 - 0 defeat at Palace last weekend and are on a rotten run of form where they have lost the last two games 3 - 0 and 5 - 0 away from home. At home they are a different outfit but looking at their recent results you get the feeling that their league position of 9th flatters them a little.

Verdict

Everything points to a solid home win here, i just cant see Watford keeping Newcastle out for long
