Serie A - Juventus v Inter

Tomorrow it's time for the Derby d'Italia. Inter are seven points ahead of Milan and eight before Juve. It is, however, two teams whose performance, attitude, tactics and coaches who have been questioned recently. Juventus have lost their last two matches against Bordeaux and Cagliari last victory came two weeks ago against Udinese at home where they won 1-0. They are not getting their game together and according to reports, Ciro Ferrara will once again change the system and return to the 4-3-1-2, making room for Del Piero who is just back from injury. His attacking partner becomes Amauri who has been Juventus only healthy forward for a while. Amauri is a top class forward, but he does not possess the pace of Iaquinta or Trez sixth sense to find the target. This is something that is clearly lacking in Juventus in recent weeks. David Trezeguet is set in the squad for tomorrow and if he feels rather fit he will surely get 20 minutes in the second half.



Inter on the other hand will miss both Maicon and Wesley Sneider. The trequartista role will therefore once again be taken by Dejan Stankovic. For me Sneijder possess the quality to handle this role in a team like Inter, while Il Drago doesn´t have the mobility and finesse to do him self justice in this role. I´ve decided to take a look at Inters first halfs during the Serie A season with Sneijder as a trequartista, and Stankovic as a trequartista. Inter have so far won eleven matches, drew two and lost only one with a goal difference of 33-11 in Serie A. If we take a closer look at these figures we see that their goaldifference in the first half is 18-4. With Sneijder as a trequartista for seven games is goaldifference 12-2, and Stankovic in six games, 6-2, where four goals came in the match against Palermo in which Mario Balotelli had great show and two against Bologna. In other matches, Bari, Livorno, Roma and Fiorentina they have failed to score during the first 45 minutes. As I said, they will also miss Maicon, Javier Zanetti replacing on the right back. Zanetti a fantastic player and Inter icon, but will not contribute in the offensive runs and crosses in the same way as brazilian.



I see a very balanced encounter where a goal in the second half probably will trap the decision. I´ve therefore decided to go with two picks for this match
