Serie A - Milan v Sampdoria

Milan come into the match full of confidence, they are unbeaten since the embarrassing loss against FC Zurich in just over two months ago. Despite very good results recently and a great offensive, the defense has often acted shaky. The main reasons for this is that they have been forced to take on Nelson Dida again as in the first matches mixed beginner mistakes with world-class saves and that Alessandro Nesta has been forced to sit out matches against e.g. Napoli and Cagliari which left large holes in the defense. Nesta will be up against Sampdoria, which means a great deal for Milan. Offensive, however, is very dangerous since Leonardo change to 4-3-3. They have played seven Serie A matches with the new formation, made at least two goals in all matches and only lost two points. Ronaldinho is better for each match and Marco Borriello rampage means that the interest in Edin Dzeko now is probably pretty cool

Sampdoria shape curve points, however the other way. They made a weak effort against Genoa last weekend and only goalkeeper Castellazzi put in a good performance. The two defenders Cacciatore and Rossi are both suspended after receiving red card in the derby. Stankevicius and Accardi replacing, which might not mean a weakening after their feeble efforts against Genoa. A major setback for the Doria is, however, that their heart and captain Angelo Palombo sits out a ban. Daniele Franceschini will probably replace. Sampdoria also went out of Coppa Italia on Tuesday after losing at home to Livorno, although they put up with a pretty strong team.

For me, this game can only end in one way. The question is, will they cover the handicap. I hope so
