Serie A - Roma v Lazio
Roma have finally started to move. They have taken ten points in the last four matches, and this weekend will be the first time during this season with an injury-free squad. Starting line will contain all the previously unlucky Totti, De Rossi, Juan, Pizarro and Vučinić
Lazio, however, it remains very difficult. They made a weak effort against Bologna last weekend where they only reached 0-0. On the injury list is now also Stefano Mauri, together with previous Siviglia, Perpetuini, Makinwa and Manfredini. Julio Cruz is still suspended, and Ballardini is still not allowed to use Pandev and Roma killer Ledesma.
But what will happen during the January transfer window? Roma will most likely send either Cerci or Guberti away on loan. They will try to free some funds through the sale of Julio Baptista, who is not part of Mr. Ranieris plans for the Lupis. On the wish list, they have a striker. Most likely Luca Toni, who must get playing time for the World Cup. Outsiders are Pavluychenko, Žigić and Adriano.
Lazio however will try to get rid of many players. Pandev is rumored to be ready for Inter, Ledesma interest Napoli and Fiorentina. Players like Makinwa and Del Nero may also have come to look for new clubs. They need to reinforce a central defender, in my opinion, the Serie A's perhaps worst defense. They are said to follow the Brazilian centreback Rever, but the highly unpopular president Lotito is not known to open the wallet, so a loan from the larger clubs seems more reasonable.
So my pick is that Roma will be the season's kings of Rome
