I have been watching quite a bit of this tournament and despite originally having my money on Federer from the start i have been hugely impressed with Del Potro. He seems to have it all, has a fantastic mentality and despite being under pressure several times he hasnt buckled when lots of other more experienced players certainly would have. Outside of that, his power, reach and ability to move around the court for a big man is very impressive. Im sure he is a future number 1 in the making. Not many would have predicted these 2 as finalists but credit to both of them, they have answered the questions asked of them and Davydenko has also looked good along the way. I have also to admit im not a huge fan of the Russian because he seems to be my bogey player, when i back him he loses and when i oppose him he finds a way to win and wreck my coupon. As for the final itself its an interesting clash of styles, Del Potro has the power but Davydenko has the range of shots to keep Del Potro moving all over the place. My main concern with Davydenko here is that he doesnt like coming up against big hitters of the ball and he also has trouble closing games out from winning positions. However he was a losing finalist here last year and will be keen not to do the two in a row.
Im sticking with Del Potro though, he can close out games better and even if he finds himself in a losing position can find a way to recover. It looks like it could go the distance too so il have medium stakes on Del Potro to win 2 - 1
