NFL - St. Louis Rams v S. Seahawks
The Seahawks haven’t won a game on the road for almost a Year!! When they did it was against the Rams, who have gone even longer than the Seahawks losing road record at home.
St. Louis is tied with Tampa for the worst record in the NFC and has already wrapped up a third straight losing season, St. Louis, which has lost 10 in a row at home since beating Dallas in October 2008, last beat Seattle 23-12 on Nov. 14, 2004. It hardly helps the Rams that they won't have QB Marc Bulger available for this game but the good news is that they should have RB Steven Jackson in the lineup. Jackson should be ready as he tries for a fifth consecutive 100-yard rushing game. Second in the NFL with 1,031 rushing yards, He had 116 and a TD on 24 carries in a 21-13 home loss to Arizona last Sunday. Jackson is the first Rams player to post five consecutive 1,000-yard seasons, and has rushed for 721 yards in 10 games against the Seahawks, QB Kyle Boller will make his third start of the season in place of Bulger, expected to miss three to six weeks due to Injury, Boller has thrown for 481 yards and thrown two TDs with three interceptions this season, but hasn't played since a 38-10 loss to Minnesota on Oct. 11.
The Seahawks look to snap a six-game road losing streak while trying for a 10th straight win over the Rams on Sunday…The Seahawks hope to not lose a third straight game after falling 35-9 at Minnesota last Sunday. Seattle's six straight road losses have all come by more than 10 points, and they have allowed an average of 32.5 points in those games. The last 2 seasons have not been good for the Seahawks, they are 7-19 since their last playoff appearance in January 08. It’s not like they aren’t trying though, Last week against the Vikings Matt Hasselbeck went 19 of 26 for 231 yards and one interception A Game against the rams might work out for the Seahawks as they are averaging 29 points during their nine-game winning streak over the Rams. It won’t be easy and Hassleback can’t do it on his own and needs their Running game to step up, the Seahawks are last in the NFL with 84 rushing yards per game, last weekend they gained a franchise-low 4 yards on 13 carries against the Vikings. But they do have a chance for a big game rushing against the Rams, who are giving up 146.4 rushing yards per contest. Seattle ran for a season-high 167 yards in a 28-0 season-opening win over St. Louis on Sept. 13.Hasselbeck, who's been playing with broken ribs and a sore shoulder for about a month, was 25 of 36 for 279 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions against the Rams earlier this season. He's thrown for 2,915 yards and 19 TDs with nine interceptions while going 9-3 as a starter versus St. Louis.
The Seahawks are 9-1 in their last 10 against the Rams and are 7-3 ATS in those matches, The Seahawks have on average have beaten the Rams by more than 10 points in those wins, In St Louis and the Seahawks have won their last 4 there and are 3-1 ATS in those matches, although the games have been very tight with the average Seahawks winning margin being only 3 points, Total wise and 4 of the last 5 have been over the set total while of the last 4 played at St Louis the set total has been passed in 3 of those most recent 4 matches, However 8 of the last 10 have resulted in over the Total of 42 points set for this match today and in St Louis all 4 of the last 4 played here have been over 42 points.
Both sides enter this match in bad form with either side losing 4 of their last 5 most recent matches, The Seahawks average better passing wise but the Rams are better on the season rushing wise, Pass defence and rush defence for either side are fairly equal and by that I mean both sides allow over 238 on the pass and both sides allow over 100 yards rushing wise so if that continues today we should see a good high scoring match.
The Rams will view this game as a chance to get something out of it and I think they will show up and play well, but really neither side is worth following unless you live in either place which I clearly don’t, I am unsure of the Seahawks even winning this game but I do think that either side has shit defence and therefore I’ll look for points in this one which against either side they should be able to do that for us, Seattle have allowed over 30 points in 3 of their last 4 while the Rams have allowed 20 or more in 4 of their last 5….I’m looking at this game to go over 42 points….Good Luck.
