Eliteserien - Frolunda HC v HV 71
I rate Frölunda Indians as a title contenders this season but they aren't playing at their level so far. Frölunda has in its squad some terrific players such as goalie Johan Holmqvist, Ville Mäntymaa, P. J. Axelsson, Joel Lundqvist, Henrik's twin brother, Mathis Olimb, Tomi Kallio, Janne Niskala or Fredrik Pettersson, but the team struggles in the middle of the table with 33 points. However, I saw some improvements in Frölunda's gameplay latelly, winning at home against Brynäs, 3:2 and losing away from Scandinavia against Luleå, 1:2, in a game in wich the "indians" played very well, creating lots of chances of scoring, but met an in-from goalie that made some amazing saves and allowed only one goal.
On the other hand, HV 71 is, by far, the best team in Elitserien at this moment. They're on the first place with 44 points and they were unbeatable at Kinnarps Arena untill the last match, when Skellefteå broke down that series of 11 games without a loss at home for HV 71.
HV 71 had some problems on road this season, winning five games and losing five, showing that they can be defeated if the opponents will try to attack more and made a constant pressure on Stefan Liv's net.
It is hard to find a favourite here having in mind that both teams are playing a high level hockey. Frölunda is playing very well after injured players came back in the team. Meanwhile, HV 71 will use the same team as in the game with Skellefteå, so it means that Lance Ward, Nichlas Torp, Johan Björk, Jukka Voutilainen and André Petersson will miss tonight.
Goals galore for me tonight, this two teams being capable of scoring lots of goals in a spectacular derby.
