WC 2010 Q. Europe - Ukraine v Greece
18 November 2009 | Preview By Tipster
xaralas (Greece)
Too much already said and emphasized on this game. Two teams of more or less equal calibre here, having a first half in Athens, going scoreless and tonight a second half in Donetsk, where Greece knows a goal is golden and Ukraine shares that knowledge as well. I doubt they can afford to take big risks, so they won't. But they will be what Greece were in 1st game and Greece will be Ukraine now, defending against the concentrated attacks of the opponent. It's clear that it's easier to defend than produce and Greece has that advantage here. They will field 3 central defenders and concentrated tactics. They got players to hold the ball and try to turn that into a 60-40 posession game, where they will have their share of chances that will be few in total anyway. If Greece scores, Ukraine gets demoralised, having a mountain to climb. If Ukraine scores, they can hold their breath till the final whistle as one goal from Greece then means disqualification and not overtime. So, expecting a long 0-0 here before anything happens and I have 3 bets for you to choose from.
1. Under 2.0 @ 1.95 (Pinnacle)
High level of safety here, as in order of probability bet is won, void and then comes the losing scenario. At these odds, this is the AH market bet to take and not getting into huge trouble with Ukraine home win odds.
2. Draw (halftime) @ 2.10 (Bet365) or 1st goal to be scored after the 30th minute @ 2.10 (PaddyPower) with a cover on 0-0 final score @ 7.50.
Riskier choice, but then again, sounds more than reasonable. Games is definetely expected to a cautious play and that includes a restriction to the enthusiastic start of either parties.
