Darts Tournament - John Part v Special Bet
Its day 2 of the G.S.O.D and this afternoons matches are the opening round matches from the final 4 groups, Tonights action see last nights players at in again in there 2nd round of group games, I will probably just sit back and watch this afternoons session but from what ive seem last night can hopefully find a few bets for this evening.
Last night a felt the bookies got it wrong with the pricing up of the correct score in the Barney match and successfully called a 5-1 win for him at very generous 5.50 odds, Tonight i feel the bookies may against have priced up the odds again involving 'Dutch' lady Francis Hoenselaar.
Francis Hoenselaar did herself proud last night against the great Raymond Van Barneveld and despite losing 5-1 proved that the women aren't a million miles behind the men in darts, In truth Barney wasnt firing on all cylinders but still managed a 91.14 average. Hoenselaar started most legs very well but was clearly getting nervous the closer she got to winning a leg, In fact the leg she did win was mainly thanks to Barney being so far behind that she could afford to miss 6 darts at the double. She deserved a leg and as a 5-1 or 5-2 backer i was more than pleased she won 1. Hoenselaar averaged 77.02 in the match, It was the lowest average of the night and will need to be upped if she is to compete in the match as opposed to just the odd leg here or there.
John Part was probably involved in the best match
and match of the highest standard last night and despite losing 5-3 to Kevin Painter managed a 3 dart average of 93.29 it was the 5th highest average of the evening and the highest of any of the losing players, It was just his opponent Kevin Painter was in fine form hitting a 3 dart average of 100.74.
John Part needs to win tonight to keep his qualifying hopes alive and a big win would be even better as count back could well decide 2nd place in this group. Hoenselaar i think has had her moment in the tournament and i dont expect her to up her average in this match and if Part can produce thr same standard of darts as last night a 5-0 win should be on the cards.
This is where i think the bookies have priced up the correct score bet wrong, Last night Barney to beat Hoenselaar was a 1.13 shot which was far too short and begged to be opposed (the lay landed) Tonight Part to win 5-0 is 2.25 and that is far to big to be ignored in my opinion
