Darts Tournament - Barneveld v Special Bet

I must say i am very disappointed with the bookies approach to this tournament, Its live on ITV4 has plenty of big names playing in it yet most bookies have given it a big time swerve.....so far, PaddyPower do have some markets up but for the main most are simple pricing up outright, match odds and correct score which is a shame, If you, like i do, fancy any unders markets then Paddy is sadly the only place to play.

Just one small pick for me on the opening night as under the group format im happy to sit back and watch the opening nights of matches.

***Van Barneveld Vs Hoenselaar***

This is 2nd match on tonight and an all 'Dutch' class with a twist, its a male Vs Female contest (there are 2 in fact tonight)

There are probably few people who will invest too much money on Hoenselaar to win this match and to honest i dont blame them, she wont win 5 legs against Barney...fact!!! But with nothing to lose here and pressure on the very short priced Barney she could cause him a few tricky moments. Its a short sprint here (best of 9 legs) and thats not a favourite of the better players who sometimes take a few legs to find there range. Hoenselaar is more than capable of hitting the treble 20 and if she can throw 6 or 9 good darts together in the same leg on her own throw may just get a shot at a double during this match, the same goes for if Barney has a poor 18 or so darts leg (its possible) Personally i think Hoenselaar will get at least 1 dart at a double tonight and i just hope she hits it.

Its a no win game here for Barney, Expected to win, Expected to win 5-0 and thats pressure in itself, the odds on a Barney win are around 1.02 and even to win 5-0 is a skinny 1.14. I certainly would be backing 5-0 at these odds despite its likelyhood. There is small value in backing Barney here to drop a leg and im happy to give it a small shot, I can remember not too long ago Robert Thornton struggling to get home against Anastasia Dobromyslova in a TV event, So you never know!!!!
