Monaghan United are hosting Sporting Fingal tonight in Carnegie League in what looks to be an interesting encounter.

Monaghan are safely positioned in the middle of the table 25 points below the leaders and 15 points above the danger zone, so absolutely no pressure on them, but also no determination. At home, they are 4-3-5 with a 15-15 GD, but against the top4 teams that fight for promotion, Monaghan have been quite weak, 1-2 and 0-3 with Shelbourne, 2-3 with UCD, 0-3 with Fingal and a surprising 0-0 draw with Waterford. I won't even mention that they were trashed in all their travels at these teams by 3 goals or more.

Sporting Fingal are up there fighting for promotion, currently on 3rd spot, 3 points behind leaders UCS that are playing a rough game tonight at Shelbourne, so Fingal can take advantage of this and close the gap. Away from home they are 8-3-2 with a 29-11 GD. THeir current form is excellent, with one exception, a home defeat against Wexford Youths, but it has to be mentioned that they had eliminated in-form Shamrock Rovers in the replay of the Setanta Cup quarterfinals, which is a great achievement to say the least. In their last game, they defeat Finn Harps 4-1 at home, and the trend looks to continue tonight, especially since they won 3-0 away and 4-0 at home vs Monaghan this season in the league, and another 2-1 victory away in the League Cup.

The odds are not very attractive, so i will not risk a handicap bet here, but rather settle for the simple away win at odds of 1.45-1.5, depending on your bookmaker. LAdbrokes are offering a nice 1.5 here, and it should be take medium-high considering the visitor's determination and h2h history this season.

Monaghan United are going to be without Brian Gartland, Paul Whelan and Barry Clancy due to suspensions, while their captain Don Tirney and Sean Brennan are still not recovered from injuries, so Monaghan have a rather depleted squad for this game.

That is why i believe the away win is almost a sure bet here and i will go with 9 units on it at odds of 1.5. Good luck.
