Carling Cup - Cup Winner v Cup Winner
This is a simple little bet and one i have been relatively successful with over the past few season, How many goals will be scored in tonights 31 Carling Cup matches.
The Carling Cup kicked off last night but the majority of the games are being played tonight, A few years ago it tended to be just the 'big 4' who didnt take the Carling Cup too seriously but that now seems to be filtering further and further down the leagues, and despite the football league season being just 1 game old you can expect teams to make plenty of changes from Saturdays line ups, If you add to this that it also falls during an 'Internatonal' week then it appears even more obvious teams will be making wholesale changes in some cases, for these reasons alone means i wont be getting too stuck into the Carling Cup tonight, I think a small fun bet could be the order of the day for some interest or at least wait til team news is out before getting stuck in, Because you can bet there will be more than enough 1.4 shots that dont win tonight.
Im a big unders backer over the Divisions each weekend, Stan James are the only bookie im aware of that offer this kind of bet and it usually offer me a mark of around 2.2 to 2.4 goals per game on average, I.E In 10 Premiership mathes the goals under mark will be around 23, In League 1 over 13 matches the under mark could be around 30 goals. In the Carling Cup tonight the spead is as follows
Under 79 goals @2.37
79-84 inclusive goals @3.4
Over 84 goals @2.50
So as you can see Unders is the favourite. There are 31 games this evening, it allows us a pretty favourable average of 2.51 goals per game which is higher than i usually get in League matches, Now of course i am aware that some Championship sides are up against League 2 sides but will International call up and players rested it brings these teams a little closer together and besides as its Cup games team could well play things a little tighter and also try to close a game out once they go a goal up.
Under 79 goals in 31 matches is a good enough mark to make this my only bet of the night (except for some fun ones!!)
**** Extra time goals do not count****
****Postponed or abandoned games count as 2.5****
