The tip is for England to have an opening partnership of over 35 runs in their first innings at Cardiff.

Strauss and Cook will walk out to bat in Wales with the hopes of a nation on their shoulders, and they have the form to go with the hopes too.

Cook is averageing over 65 in 2009 and with a top knock of 160 he will go into this game full of confidence.

His captain Strauss meanwhile is in equally as good form with a 2009 average of just under 60 and a highest score of 169.

It is interesting to note that Strauss' test avergae as England captain is over 50 which is an amazing acheivment, given the added pressure the job puts him under, but it is testament to the man that he can raise his game whilst managing the players he has under him. A real team leader and one who leads by example.
