Twenty20 - Sri Lanka v Special Bets

The Twenty20 World Cup is reaching crunch time for many sides now we are halfway through the Super 8s group stage, Ireland need a win today or they are out and Sri Lanka know a win will all but assure them of a semi final spot.

There is nothing ive seen to suggest Ireland can cause an upset in this match, Fair play to the Irish though for getting to the Super 8s stage but sadly there lack of real class will be shown up and i fully expect them to slide to 3 comfortable defeats, Already in the Super 8s they have managed an 83 run defeat against New Zealand and much of the same can be expected this afternoon. Whether the Irish bat 1st or 2nd i cant see them recording much above about 120 and that wont be enough to trouble a very good Sri Lankan side.

Sri Lanka are going very well so far with wins already against Australia, The West Indies and Pakistan, 3 sides who are head and shoulders above Ireland. One of the main reasons for Sri Lankas batting success is down to there opening pair, Tillekaratne Dilshan and Sanath Jayasuriya who have got them off to very good starts in 2 of there 3 matches, opening stands of 19 Vs Australia 124 Vs West Indies and 81 Vs Pakistan. Now if Sri Lanka bat 1st they would expect and score around the 180-200 region and i would expect one of these 2 openers to get in, get set and hit a big score, If however they chase then i dont think they will be chasing a big big score 120?? max?? and a decent opening stand would also mean one of these openers could well be 'top batsman' i cant look beyond these 2 but which one do you go for??? personally im going to 'Dutch' both players for a better than even money return and hope these 2 get them off to a flying start.
