The Mets broke their 3 game losing streak yesterday as they best the Yankees in Game 2 of this Series 6-2 and now are looking for Johan Santana to take them to another win tonight...

Santana had his worst outing in a while in his last start against the Phillies the Mets may of won but a hurler with as much class as Santana will not be pleased with him giving up so many Home Runs in that effort and this will be a great challenge for him today against this Yankees side, Santana 8-3 with an era of 2.39 will be looking to redeem himself here against this Yankees line up, The Mets have taken the win in 2 of Santana last 3 starts,they won against the Phillies 6-5 and Nationals 7-4 but lost to the Pirates 1-3, Santana has numbers of 2-1 with an era of 5.21 in those starts...Career wise and Santana has faced the Yankee's before in 7 starts and is 4-1 with an era of 3.15 against them...In Santana's last 5 starts against this Yankees outfit his side has won all but one match and that was his last start against them with the Yankees taking it 3-2, Santana gave up 3 earned on 4 hits with a huge 8 walks.

Meanwhile the Yankees will go with AJ Burnett 4-3 with an era of 4.89, The Yankees behind Burnett have won 2 of his last 3 starts,the wins came against the Rangers twice 12-3 and 9-2 while his last start was not good against the Red Sox in which the Yankees were well beaten 7-0, Career wise and Burnett has faced the Mets before but not as a Yankee, He has started in 16 games against them and is 2-6 with an era of 3.83..In Burnetts last 3 starts against the Mets the Mets have won all 3 with two games the Mets hit in 5 earned while in the last the Mets won 3-2 in 205,Burnett in those starts received 2 Wins,2 ND's and a Loss.

Two Great starters here who have both had bad outings in their last starts,Santana managed to take the win in his bad outing though against the Phillies white the Yankees couldn't do the same for the Yankees against the Red Sox,Santana was furious with himself last start and was also not happy about being pulled from the game in the 6th inning of that game either,he is a World Class starter though and bouncing back will be what he is looking for.

Looking through the hit tally though and the Yankee's appear to have the better strike rate than the Mets do against either starter and that has me worried that I might make the wrong decision,however like I said Santana is a champion and should respond well to that last effort and since it is against the Yankee's in baseball apart from the red Sox there is no greater challenge,I'm going to look for him to rise to that challenge today and do his utmost for the Mets to get a win and redeem himself..hard to call really but go with the Mets but stake it low...Good Luck.
