Rugby Union - All Blacks v France
This All Blacks side has some real talent in the backs but is a very much untested forward pack made up of mainly Crusades,Cheifs and Hurricanes and are without Mc'Caw to boot many of them i the case of Messam,Thompson,Read and Ross are really untested at this level although all bar Messam have played at this level before, the backline is of course the saving grace for them with a lot of speed and sheer talent out there waiting for their chance but the real problem for them is that in their halves they have Cowan and Donald and Donald imparticular worries me,at times he can be good but more times he appears to be very average and his choice making really seems wanting in many areas,he likes to kick if he can't figure out a way through the opposition and that is a massive worry and will cost the AB's points should he return back to doing that, other than him though the AB's do have the side to score points and likely will but with no Mc'Caw and no Dan Carter and a host of untested players I think it will take them a while to get going and if the French are up for this game it could be very close indeed.
Normally France brings under strength teams to play us here at home but this time they have brought a relatively good side who can be competitive, their backline has some flair to it and the return of Clerc to the Les Bleus is likely a very positive sign for them,in their forwards they have some good players also with the likes of Picamoles,Dusatoir and Ouedraogo in their side and a very decent backline feeder with Trinh- Duc and with that they should be competitive against an All Black side untested in this type of environment.
With this being the first hit out for this All Black side I think it could take them a while to get going,I do think that they will win but the margin is not to clear cut,France will know that they have a great chance here tonight to surprise the All Blacks but all it will take is for one lapse and the AB backline wil pounce,I reckon the AB's wil win in a hard fought affair and will either cover the spread or just finish short...so take the two winning margin spreads at good odds and sit back and enjoy the opening of the International season for the All Blacks...Good Luck.
