NRL Rugby - Warriors v Wests Tigers
Warriors fans have wanted this for a while and now it is here with Kevin Locke starting in the first team but on the wing not his preferred position but his enthusiasm and commitment should prove good for the Warriors today, also dropped with Kemp is Henderson to make way for Heremiah the journey man coming into the side, now changes can be good but the effort last weekend from the Warriors was just awful, they also are missing Price who is on Origin duty but otherwise have the same side barring the changes who went down miserably to the Raiders last weekend, that game by the Warriors against the Raiders was real cause for concern for Warriors fans as the effort was gone and players did nothing in order to make a difference, people are blaming Jones but it is not just him there are numerous players at fault here and they all must stand up this week to get some redemption,we all have to remember that at the beginning of this season the warriors had depth and were in the hunt for the Top 4 and now everyone is giving up on them and wondering just how bad this could be come seasons end, this fixture last season was a win for the Warriors and they are looking for more of the same this time around but it won’t be easy as the Tigers are playing well and could worry the Warriors even without Farah.
The Tigers will miss Farah but they still have the rest of the side here in NZ and with Marshall calling the shots they will be in this game, the Tigers have really come on of late and are looking loads better than earlier in their season, they have lost their last 3 against the Bunnies,Dogs and Broncos but no loss has been by more than 2 points and the Tigers effort in those games has been very good with all of this Tigers side seemingly wanting to make a difference,Marshall has lead them well and their forward pack has gone forward, they are also very fit and can run for the full 80 as they have been showing, apart from Farah the rest of the side are intact and come here in good form and know that they can win here but they will have to aim up to do so.
The Tigers have lost 4 of their last 5 against the Warriors and on their travels to Auckland have lost 4 of their last 5 but did win their last game here in 2007 26-30 and the way they are playing this season it could be more of the same.
I’m going to go with the Warriors here as they really need to show some commitment here after last weeks disaster, talent wise and the Tigers are likely the better bet but for sheer class this Warriors side has enough of that to win this game and I’m thinking that that along with last weeks dismal showing that they will bounce back and grab a much needed win here but not by very much at all….Good Luck.
