NRL Rugby - Raiders v Warriors
The Raiders can't buy a win but they will like their chances in this game today as they host the Warriors who have not won here in Canberra since the Super League days which was a very long time ago indeed, the Raiders have to change their fortunes at some stage and today is as good as any chance to get back on track, really the Raiders have not been playing well at all over the last month or so and their results have shown that, they started their season well and were in games but now they just cannot seem to get into games to give themselves a chance at winning them and their style of play has changed greatly also with them preferring to keep their games tight rather than trying to run away from their opponents, personally I like the Raiders to play that way and stay in the game without trying to run away with them as they tend to get lost and the self belief levels climb to high for me,the Raiders do not have a great side but they do have a good one and against a Warriors side who they have a great record against and the Raiders looking for a win I think they will extend that losing run for the Warriors in the Nation's Capital again today.
The Warriors have dropped Fein and as such have had to have a reshuffle, into centre comes Ah Van while Mannering returns to the second row and Moon returns to standoff, now while the Warriors haven't been winning they were i their games until last weekend when they were pretty much blown off the park by the Cowboys, the Warriors are making huge inroads with their forwards but are not doing anything with the ball,at times you can read what they are doing and the only real weapon they seem to have is the kick to the wings as Jones will not take on the line, even if they try to change that there are other worries with McKinnion not making any real inroads this season and a certain lack of class around the park at times which is very noticeable,The Warriors will start to win games but I don't know if they can win this one.
The Raiders are looking for a win much like the Warriors will be but the Raiders are at home and do have a great record there,I am not expecting this game to be a blowout to the Raiders as the one thing the Warriors have done in the last two seasons is to stay in their road games and give themselves a chance at winning them, the Raiders are not the same free flowing side we are used to seeing this season and for them nothing but a win will do whether by 1 point or 50,,,Look for the Warriors to be in it but to come up short to a Raiders side who want it that little bit more...Good Luck.
