WC Sheffield - Each-way v Each-way
John Higgins won this in 2007, and also rather famously back in 1998. He hasn't done an awful lot of late and is provisionally dropping down the rankings like the proverbial stone (14th from 5th). He is a very streaky player and is either red hot, or awful. Granted he was in a reasonable run of form in the first round against Michael Holt, but i can really see him being tested to the limit by Jamie Cope.
Cope put out talented Joe Perry with ease in the first round, and is a player who is getting the snooker buffs excited by his style of play and his never say die attitude. He has beaten Higgins before in the UK championships last year, and will look at another "scalp" in this years tournament after coming so close on last years round one when he narrowly lost out to another former champion in the shape of Peter Ebdon 10-9.
He is a potting machine and has reportedly made over 150 maximum 147's in practice.
The 23 year old could simply blow Higgins away here, and I think 2/1 is a very fair price.
