Premiership - Newcastle v Portsmouth
27 April 2009
Preview By Tipster
Rooney (England)
Well Alan Shearer is insisting his role is only for this season and he will be joining the Match of the day program for next season but I think even if that is the case, he wouldn't like his name to be associated with a humiliating relegation drop for his beloved Newcastle. Portsmouth on the other side after the sale of Defoe they have only Crouch and Nugent in front. Nah, not dangerous enough. I really don't understand why the coach of Pompey (I am not even gonna bother to search for his name) is not using striker Gekas seeing all this mess.
Portsmouth they are hard to beat but with no presence at front they have to defend & defend again so at some point the inventible will happen. Newcastle they have the capability of clinching this one, even with a little bit of help from the crowd or the referee..Owen is ready & with Viduka and Martins up front THEY HAVE TO SCORE...The important thing for the home side is not to concede..
Pompey they will be grateful with a point here, but unfortunately in football (and in life) when u aim low, probably u will end up lower..Last chance for Newcastle to stay on track for a great escape out of the danger zone. If one team out of those struggling below the line is more likely to do it, I believe it is the Magpies. They have better schedule (at least theoretically) against Hull & Boro and I think they will eventually make it one way or the other.
