Championship - Cardiff v Ipswich Town
I don't mind admitting i was staggered when I saw Coral were offering 5/1 about an Ipswich win. I have duly lumped on, and I am very confident of a pick up. (They now go 9/2....still big IMO)
Roy Keane will be in charge for his first game on Saturday afternoon at Cardiff, and I have a great deal of admiration for the way he can manage a team out of adversity and into winners. When he took over Sunderland 3 years ago they were bottom of the Championship after 7 games having not won one. They won that league that year, and although he got found out a bit in the EPL he is definitely a decent manager in the making and has more than enough about him to get the Ipswich players into shape for these remaining few games and then into next season. Everyone associated with the club will be wondering what he is going to do, and will be playing for their jobs. They have 2 games left to impress the new boss, and as he has supposedly been given a decent tranch of cash to buy new players with, you could argue that they are playing for their livelihood. Is this a bigger incentive than playoffs ??
Cardiff are having the end of season wobbles and couldn't even get past an already relegated Charlton side in mid week having to come back from 2-0 down to scrape a 2-2 draw. The week before they were mullered 6-0, and although you have to think that Swansea and Preston could both make it past the bluebirds, they are 6 points clear of them and it would take a proper collapse AND great football from those 2 clubs to reverse the placings.
A massive price on the tractor boys here and even though i obviously may well be wrong, I htink it is worth backing.
