Champions League - Panathinaikos v Villareal

A sold out at the Olympic Stadium in Athens, the Greeks face the Spaniards for a place in the Sun. Panathinaikos will probably play 4-3-2-1 with fast Salpiggidis behind Mantzios who will be the only striker. Villareal will try with Pires & Rosi to score an early goal and turn the tables as the away team is the one who needs to attack. I think both teams with be rather careful on first half, neither will want to go behind. Of course Panathinaikos (short P.A.O.) would be delighted with a 0-0 but it will be nerve racking towards the end of the match.

In a goalless draw PAO qualifies on the away goal rule. Therefore I am expecting Villareal to test the Greens defense. However Villareal cannot give a 1 goal cushion to PAO so they have to be careful themselves. To me all these translates a 0-0 at ht. In the unlikely case some of the two contenders scores an early (or late) goal at the first half, of course the whole picture changes. Let's assume PAO go ahead with 1-0. Villareal will push hard then and PAO will have 11 men behind the ball at all times. High stakes require extreme measures.

If the Yellow Submarines go ahead then PAO will be anxious to score and Villareal will defend and try to counterattack and kill the game. No matter from which angle I see this game the under 2.25 still looks a really good offer to me. Pinnacle has not such a line (sticking to 2 goals line), 10bet got the idea first and opened the line at 1.84 now it is 1.74, in just a matter of few hours. I found it at 1.78 at Bet365 a bit disappointing but to get 3 goals in this game (lose our bet) lots of things need to happen. After all a 0-2 or 2-0 lead will leave either team with no chance, so only a consolation goal would be the target in such a scenario. A 1-1 will lead us to overtime but at least we don't lose the bet. Actually we are winning with half of the stake. Not bad. Not bad at all. Good luck!
