League Two - Aldershot v Shrewsbury
10 March 2009
It might turn out to be a little bit of a crazy pick come 9.45 tonight, backing a side that has won just 1 of 17 games away from home this season, but ive just got a sneeky feeling tonight is going to be Shrewsburys night. Shrewsbury are like chalk and cheese, Brilliant at home, infact they have the best home record in League 2 at the moment, and bloody terrible away from home (1 win in 17) If there away form had been even just average they would be in the top 2 in the division comfortably. Shrewsbury have the players and the fire power to win away so it is becoming a bit of a head scratcher as to why they cant.
At first glance Aldershots home form looks like it should be good enough to see off Shrewbury, 8 wins 6 draws and just 3 defeat. The truth is though that despite winning there last home match against a poor Accrington side that alone is there only league win since a 3-0 victory over Barnet back on Decemeber 26th. the Accrington win ended a run of 6 without a home win for Aldershot, so as you can see there home form isnt that great now. Aldershot lost 5-0 last time out and despite having plenty of possession defended terribly according to some sources. Its probably no surprise that they have let in 28 goals in there last 10 matches.
If Shrewsbury cant go to Aldershot and get a win then it will be difficult to see just exactly they will notch there next away win. As the bad away run continues they price keeps getting bigger and at 2.75 its a good enough price to get involved with for me.
