Ryder Cup - Special Market v Special Market
Ishikawa turned professional in 2008 and won another Japan Golf Tour tournament, the mynavi ABC Championship. By the close of 2008 he had became the youngest ever player to reach the top 100 of the Official World Golf Rankings.
On January 22, 2009, Ishikawa was invited to play in the 2009 Masters Tournament as one of International Invitees by the Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia.
This doesn't happen to "normal" golfers, and such is the hype surrounding this young talent in his own country, he will actually have more press following him round than a certain Mr E Woods does at most tournaments.
2/1 to make the cut is, in my opinion a once in a lifetime price, because if Ryo does what he does best and continues it through, he could easily be a top 10 golfer in the next 2 years. Look at Rory Mcilroy. Everyone was raving about him, he has some good finishes, wins his first tournamnet and he is now up to 15th in the world. He is 2 years older than Ryo, but if anyone offered you 2/1 for Rory to make the cut now you'd bite their hands off !
My max bet nowadays is around £500 and I would have loved to "get on" at this amount, but sadly Skybet have limited me to £130. Now it won't make me a millionaire, and sadly no other bookie I can find is offering this type of bet, but this is a BLOOTER as they would say on Betfair, and should be hammered accordingly.
