Much like the Kuznetsova pick, i think the line is slightly in our favour here, its -5.5 and i like that.

Elena Dementieva is many peoples choice to win the Australian Open this year, thats no surprise really when you look at how she has started 2009. played 11 won 11 so far is impressive stuff. Back to back titles in Auckland and Sydney dropping just 2 sets is a nice way to begin things, She beat Safina and Serena Williams in Sydney too. She did drop a set here against little know German Kristina Barrois in the opening round but i will forgive her for that as nobody likes opening rounds and she did manage to win the deciding set without offering any break points.

Ive spoke about Iveta Benesova a few times on here recently, She surprised me in the opening round with her defeat of Vera Dushevina in 3 sets, After winning the 1st set she was beaten 6-0 in the 2nd and i thought she would fall apart from that, but fair play to her she didnt and won the decider 6-2. It would be interesting to see how well she battles if she loses the an opening set though, recently she fell apart in a final against Kvitova after dropping the opening set.

If Dementieva can up her game she will have too much class here to drop more than 6 games, So i think she has a good chance of beating the handicap mark of -5.5
