WTA - Iveta Benesova v Petra Kvitova
Moorilla Hobart International Final
An interesting looking final this one between two Czech players who both have the same coach. Czech No.1 Benesova and Czech No.2 Kvitova contest the first all Czech final for almost 4 years.
Kvitova is a player i like very much and personally i think its only a matter of time before she replaces Benesova as Czech No.1. Kvitova has risen up through the rankings in the last year or so to inside the top 50 and has a Venus Wiliams victory under her belt too. When it works her 1st serve is very good and allround she has a pretty good and powerful game. She started the season with a defeat against Ana Ivanovic but she can be forgiven for that defeat against a player who started to find her best form towards the end of last season. Kvitova has had a relatively easy passage to her first final with only Pavlyuchenkova causing her some problems.
Benesova is a steady player but not one i could ever see breaking into the elite of tennis, At almost 26 years of age she simply hasnt produced enough wins over top players to ever look like a top 10/15 player. She started the season with a disappointing defeat but has found her feet here and has reacted another final with ease and has yet to drop a set, In truth she has had a fairly easy route in what isnt the strongest looking tournament.
I think its safe to say Kvitova will be a little nervous coming into her first final but if you could hand pick an opponent, you may well choose a fellow Czech team mate who you share coaches with to ease the nerves. Kvitova will be keen to impress here and if she can start well could well go on to win this 2-0 and at 3.25 i think its well worth me backing with todays snooker winnings!!!
