Darts Tournament - R. Van Barneveld v Phil Taylor
The final everyone wanted.
Taylor v Barney for the title best player in the world and £125,000 for the winner.
I watched both games last night and to be fair i thought Wade could have taken Barney at one point last night, but the dutchman just proved too strong. I think Merv the swerve lost it with his attitude in the first couple of sets where he tried too hard and got in a mental battle with himself.
It was good to see Taylor playing with the crowd when they came out, and he will be trying 100% to wrestle his title back.
Barney will be equally greedy for further glory and I fully expect a very tight match, as even if one player goes 2 sets ahead, they both have the mettle to come back and fight on where others would find the pressure too much.
I think this bet is a bit of a no brainer as it requires Barney to "only" get 4 sets, which he should be more than capable of. He is a reasonable price to win the thing outright at about 11/4, but Phil could easily play his "A" game and see Barney off.
Too close to call for me, and if you have several accounts there is great opportunity for some arbing on the 180's market and other such exotics.
