Int. Friendlies - Germany v England

I'm English, I have an opinion on this game, and whether you want to hear it or not, here it is !!

Unlike many others who see this as a dull drab pointless affair, I see it as an exciting pointless affair !!

We have to play a friendly this time of year ( it is beyond me why, but we do ), and who better to play it against than the old enemy. There have been some great matches against "Ze Germans" over the years. The 5-1 in Munich, the 0-1 in Wembley, and a load of people older than me bang on about some game back in the 60's !!

No matter how pointless the circumstances, you can be assured that with JT leading the boys out tonight, this will mean something to them. This is essentially a reserve team game with the likes of Upson, Bridge, Johnson, Young, SWP, Crouch, Defoe and Bent all likely to get a game, but when you look at some of those players, you wonder why they don't get a first team start properly. Bent is the top english scorer in the EPL, Crouch and Defoe aren't far behind. Ashley Young has been magnificent for Villa this year, and SWP has been a different player back at Man City. Make no mistake, these guys will be giving 100% tonight in the faint hope that they catch Fabio's eye with a stunning performance that will see them elevated into a game that actually means something. They won't have it all their own way of course with the germans fielding the likes of Klose, Schweinsteiger and Podolski. However I see plpenty of goals in this game, and at the price England and the draw looks like a stand out bet.
